A Few Words on Alzheimer’s

Richard Edelson, Ph.D.

I don’t usually endorse books or products, but I’ve written before about ways to improve your chances of not being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease.  In this regard, I just saw a reference to a book on this topic I thought I’d pass along.  Gary Small, M.D., is a psychiatrist whose previous publication was called The Memory Bible, and concerning ways to preserve memory functions.   His latest book is entitled The Alzheimer’s Prevention Program: Keep Your Brain Healthy for the Rest of Your Life.  Chapters deal with nutrition, physical exercise, stress management, sleep, and healthcare.  While there is no way to guarantee prevention of Alzheimer’s, the book seems to be a commonsense approach to dementia prevention that is likely to lead to a healthier life.  Who can object to that?
