Letitia F. Shirley is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with over 20 years of mental health experience working with individuals, families and couples. She graduated from Lindsey Wilson College in 2000 with a B.A. in English and a minor in History. After graduating, she worked in the Student Affairs Department, which increased her passion for helping young adults, and received a Master of Education in Human Growth and Development with a specialization in Counseling in 2006. She held credentials as a Licensed Professional Counselor Associates for 3 years, and during that time, worked initially within a girls group home and subsequently provide counseling in the school, home, community and office settings to individuals at-risk for out of home placement. She also gained knowledge and experience in providing support to individuals with ADHD, blended families, adoption & foster care, attachment, sexual traumas and abuse, chronic pain illness and disability, dual diagnosis, anxiety, depression and other mood disturbances, issues related to faith, addiction, relationship issues, familial & marital conflicts, and other mental health concerns.
Letitia then went into private practice and contracted to work with individuals with disabilities for over 3 years, and worked extensively providing counseling to those dealing with addictions and providing DUI assessments. Since that time, she has been an independent contractor and has continued to work in the community with at-risk youth, with families that have children at risk for out of home placements, couples, and individuals. She has a wealth of experience working with school-based clients, as well as EAP, private pay, and private insurance.
Letitia believes that you are the expert of your own story, that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you, and it takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. She wants to be there to support and empower you in that journey.
